  Abstract Submissions   Minimize

Information for Abstract Presenters

Please note the time and date of your abstract presentation on the  program.

You will have a 10 minute platform session in which you will be allotted 3 min for your oral slide presentation and 7 min for questions and discussion.

We recommend you employ only 3 slides: 1 for brief outline of study, 1 with conclusions and 1 for implications of your study.  Please have your slides on a memory stick for loading into the main computer. In order to stay on time and thus allow all presenters to receive sufficient time, we will be adhering to a strict 10 minute interval.


  Call for Abstracts  

Abstracts are invited on new research in adults, children, neonates, and animal models involving:

*          Risk factors for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)
*          Brain protection during carotid endarterectomy
*          Anesthesia during cardiac and carotid surgery and its effect on the brain
*          Neonates - CPB and neurologic outcome
*          Perfusion methodology
*          Cerebral hemodynamics during cardiac and carotid surgery
*          Neuropsychological dysfunction associated with cardiac & carotid surgery
*          Neuromonitoring during cardiac and vascular surgery
*          Advances in cardiac surgical techniques
*          Thrombosis, Endothelial dysfunction, Inflammatory processes
*          Microcirculatory dynamics

All abstracts will be published in Proceedings booklet and in fall issue of Heart Surgery Forum. Presenters will be allotted 10 min for oral presentation. 3 minutes to discuss four slides: 1 Methods, 1 Result slide, 1 Conclusion slide, and 1 issues for Discussion slide which will be followed by 7 minutes of Q&A.  Three key issues are to be listed at the end of the abstract.
